There are several conditions that can affect our eyes as we age. Macular degeneration can affect your central vision and glaucoma usually starts by affecting peripheral vision. Both of these conditions can either run in family or occur to people with no family history. It is important to catch these conditions early to start proper treatment to help prevent further vision loss. We routinely screen for both macular degeneration and glaucoma in our complete exams and if any there is any evidence of these conditions we can implement a treatment plan to preserve.
